Your PC must have DOS 3.3 or later; EGA or VGA display; 640K memory; 3 MB hard disk space; and for printing, an Epson LQ-compatible dot matrix printer with a 32K memory buffer, or HPLJ2-compatible laser printer. The shareware version of GAKUSEI 1.1 contains 20 lessons. Registered users will receive: the latest version of software; an additional 10 lessons for a full 30 lessons; a formatted and printed user's manual; and a kana keyboard reference chart. The shareware lessons include: an introduction to kana; a sampling of onomatopoeia; DESU copula; ARIMASU/IMASU verbs of existence; WA, GA, E, O, DE, and NI relationals; dictionary and -MASU verb forms; NA adjectives; more. Volume 1 of the shareware version (GAKU11V1.EXE) is a self-extractor containing the tutorial "engine" and lessons 16-20. Volume 2 of the shareware version (GAKU11V2.EXE) is a self-extractor containing lessons 1-15. Volume 1 can run by itself and does not require volume 2.
